Age and Young Users
The short version
- You must be 13 or over to use Glyde or any of its online services.
- If you are under 18, ask a parent or carer before you create an account.
- We never show adverts, never build advertising profiles and never sell personal data, whatever your age.
1. Minimum age
Glyde and its online services (Cirkle ID sign in, sync and the Szimon assistant) are not for children under 13. In the UK, 13 is the age at which a young person can agree to the use of their data by an online service on their own. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If we find that we have, we will delete it.
2. Ages 13 to 17
If you are under 18, please talk to a parent or carer before you create an account, and ask them to read the Privacy Policy with you. We aim to follow the ICO's Children's Code. In practice that means:
- High privacy settings by default
- No adverts and no advertising profiles
- No nudging you to give up more data than the feature needs
- Plain wording in our policies
Glyde is a general web browser. It cannot filter what websites show, so it is not a replacement for parental controls. A parent or carer who wants filtering should use the controls on the device or the network.
3. The Szimon assistant
The assistant is an AI and can give wrong or unsuitable answers. Young users should not share personal details with it, such as full names, addresses, school names or photos.
4. Parents and carers
If your child is under 13 and has an account, or you want to see or delete the data we hold about your 13 to 17 year old, email mydata@teamcirkle.co.uk and we will act on it promptly.
