Terms of Use
These terms cover the Glyde browser software on your computer or phone. They are the conditions for installing and using it. The website and online services (Cirkle ID sign in, sync and the Szimon assistant) are covered by the Terms of Service.
The short version
- Glyde is free to use. You must be 13 or over.
- Most of the code is open source and has its own licences. The Glyde name and logo are not free to reuse.
- The software comes without a warranty, so keep your own backups.
1. Who we are
Glyde is published by Cirkle Development Group (teamcirkle.co.uk), an online organisation ("we", "us"). Contact: help@glyde.teamcirkle.co.uk or info@teamcirkle.co.uk.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, ask a parent or carer before you install it. If you are installing it for others, such as at a school or business, you are responsible for making sure they are allowed to use it.
3. Your licence
We give you a free, personal, non-exclusive right to install and use Glyde on devices you own or control. The source code is open source, and the licence for each part is in the program's licence notices and on the Open Source and Trademarks page. Where an open source licence gives you more rights than these terms, the open source licence wins for that code.
4. What you must not do
- Use Glyde to break the law or to harm other people
- Remove or hide licence notices
- Pass off a changed version as the official Glyde, or use the Glyde name or logo in a way that suggests we made or approve it
- Attack, overload or try to get around the limits of our online services
5. Updates and security
Browsers need regular security updates. Install them when they are offered. Until update support is released, you must update by downloading the latest version from this website. We cannot protect you if you keep using an old version.
6. Your data and settings
Your browsing data stays on your device. You are responsible for backing it up. If you use sync, keep your recovery key safe, because with end to end encryption we cannot recover it for you. See the Privacy Policy.
7. Third party content
Websites, search results and add-ons you reach through Glyde belong to other people. We do not control them and are not responsible for them. Add-ons you install can see and change what you browse, so only install ones you trust.
8. No warranty
Glyde is provided "as is". We do not promise it is free of faults or that it will meet your needs. This does not affect any rights you have by law that cannot be excluded.
9. Our responsibility to you
We are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen, loss of data you chose not to back up, or business losses. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
10. Trademarks
Glyde and the Glyde logo are our trademarks. Firefox and Mozilla are trademarks of the Mozilla Foundation, and Google is a trademark of Google LLC. Glyde is not officially associated with Mozilla or Google or their products.
11. Ending these terms
You can stop at any time by uninstalling Glyde. We may end your licence if you seriously break these terms. Sections that should survive, such as 8 and 9, will do so.
12. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms and will say so on the website and in the browser. They are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also use your local courts.
